Description Sèvre Niortaise
The Sèvre Niortaise with its two arms (the “Canal de Vieille-Autise” and the “Canal de la Jeune-Autise” in Poitou-Charente)only navigable on short parts it is a paradise for enthusiasts of nature. The main part of the navigable waters is in the famous “Marais Poitevin”, an extensive protected marsh. From Marans to the gulf of Aiguillon the Sèvre is a sea-waterway.
