The short but very well completed branch canal leads from the Leie at Wielsbecke to the town Roeselare (Roulers).

There is little attraction for tourism along this canal.

















Before flowing into the Schelde, the Leie crosses the Old Town of Gent and is there of equal importance as the Seine to Paris, the Spree to Berlin or the Danube to Vienna. Unfortunately, normal navigation is, because of the low bridges, not possible.
