Dardanelles and Sea of Marmora

Ports of Entry: Canakkale, Bandirma, Istanbul

Dardanelles and Sea of Marmora
as a link, they are probably the most disputed waters in the world, since this small stretch not only connects the Aegean with the Black Sea, but the Mediterranean with the former Russian States. Dominating this, between 1.3 and 6 km bottleneck, meant controlling an important part of business between south and east Russia with Europe and the African countries along the Mediterranean Sea. Today, especially the Sea of Marmora is in the hands of tourism. People of Istanbul have discovered this summer health resort but it has also become more and more attractive to the other middle Europeans.

Coming from Greece, Canakkale is the first Port of Entry, the isles of Gökçeada and Bozcaada may therefore not be touched at. Passing the Dardanelles, the Sea of Marmora and the Bosporus is controlled by the port of Canakkale. One also has to check out there when lieving this area.
