having left the Bosporus behind, one finds oneself in an entirely different world. No more light-flooded loveliness of the Aegean, no more airy taverns. It feels like being on a huge mountain lake since most of the mountains reaching the coast go up to 2000 till 3000 metres. There are no more protected anchorage coves but now and again a port and surprisingly many big, but not very nice, towns all the way to the Georgian border.
