The Ionian Sea lies on the west coasts of Albania, the Greek mainland and the west coast of the Peloponnesus. Offshore are the islands of Corfu, Paxoi, Andipaxoi, Levkas, Ithaca, Cephalonia, Zakynthos and Cythira.
Being near the Italian mainland, this estuary is very popular. Surprising for Greece is the green surrounding with almost Italian flair.
