Tourism started here rather late. Unfortunately this couldn't avoid the terrible Hotel construction errors of the 70ies and 80ies in the past century. Small fishing harbours, in the other parts of the Aegean still numerous, can hardly be found anymore. If you make an effort to go inland, you will find a wild nature, rural villages with taverns not serving any French fried potatoes.
