The lock of Pontelagoscuro at River Po brings as onto the Canale Botticelli. This industrial canal leads after 5 km already into the Marina of Ferrara.

Once a very important connection of the town of Ferrara with the coast of the Adriatic Sea it is now very rarely used, even though the locks have a dimension of 115 x 11.50 metres. Soon after we passed the industrial part of the west of Ferrara, we get into the middle of the heavily used agricultural areas of the southern delta of the Po. Unfortunately one finds no official tie ups on the way down to Comacchio. Not even this picturesque lagoon town with its beautiful canals has decent tie ups. Since we would like to see the town absolutely, we finally tie up on a rather shaky pontoon.
The port south of Porto Garibaldi offers all infrastructures, but especially in high season not always free places....

Po di Volano
One used to get from Volano at the Adriatic Sea on the river to the Canale Ferrara - Porto Garibaldi at Migliarino, but the power house of Tieni between Massa Fiscalia and Codigoro put an end to this.
With ideal water levels one can get today from the Ferrara side to Massa Fiscali, and from the coast to Codigoro. There are a few common tie ups at Codigoro.
