Fiume Piave & Canale Cavetta
Navigation
Piave: no problems
Canale Cavetta: barred
River Piave
Theoretically it is today still navigable to the bridge of Fossalta di Piave, if you manage to find somebody who opens the bridge of San Donà di Poive....
After one passed the high water lock of Musile di Piave coming from the Sile, one is suddenly on a noble river with relatively low banks. At the bridge of Eraclea there is unfortunately no tie up and the rocks along the banks make a stop very difficult. We have therefore no chance to visit the town.
Inland waterways tourism is not yet appreciated in north-eastern Italy and one shows therefore no interest in offering any infrastructures along the waters.
The pontoon bridge of Cà Speranza is closed on Sundays.
There are first tie ups in the old fishermen's port of Cortellazzo but, in high season it is hopelessly overcrowded and one better looks for a place along the Canale Largon.
Canale Cavetta
Diese 8 km lange, zum Kanalsystem Literanea Veneta gehörende Verbindung, welche Cortellezza mit Jesolo und der östlichen Lagune von Venedig verbindet, ist leider gegenwärtig nicht schiffbar.
