River Po
is the grand river of Italy. As from Pavia it is limitedly navigable and from Gremona it is a broad waterway. Surely it is the waterway in Italy with the best infrastructures but also with the heaviest traffic by commercial vessels. It also transports not quite 100% of the effluent of the city of Milano into the Sea.....
The last few years, navigation has great new problems. On one hand there have been an increasing amount of high waters and on the other hand, the lowlands of Po are suffering of water shortage.
Therefore, farmers are depending on the waters of the river in order to survive and this water is then missing for commercial shipping. 

Mincio
is navigable over 23 km until just before Mantova, there are two locks on this short stretch.
