and Monfalcone

We leave the very busy town full of fishermen and tourists on the Canale di Grado and Litoranea Veneta. After the island of Barbana with its church of pilgrimage Santa Maria di Barbana, civilisation seems to dismiss us (or the other way round?)
On the Canale Tiel we are again all on our own. At Fossa Veccia the swing bridge Ponte dei Feudi is waiting for us. One should announce passage for this one and the following two days ahead. After the Ponte dei Feudi, we change into the canalised small river Isonzato, which brings us, passed huge fields into the Isonzo. We stay on it for 2 kilometres and leave it through the branch canal into the Bay of Panzano. Passing through the river mouth can't be recommended because of sanding up! Our journey on the Litoranea Veneta, the Venetian inland waterway, is ending at Monfalcone, a seaport with endless marinas. One can find here everything for the boat and almost everything for the people on it.
