Trent & Mersey Canal
the southerly link from the east of England to the Atlantic at Liverpool. It has, over the Grand Union Canal, a link to London, over the Birmingham & Fazeley canal one to Birmingham and over the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal another one to River Servern and therefore to the southwest of England.
From the Trent south-west of Nottingham, this canal runs in a large arc northwards in the direction of Mersey. This very heavily travelled canal has variety to offer and all the necessary facilities that make navigation a joy.
