Is it a river or a canal? Anyhow, from Bishopsbridge to it\'s discharge into the Humber, it is a straight line. Except of the short link to Brigg where it still is a river.
The river was canalised for drainage and transportation in the 13th century already, therefore, it is now something like a canal with river banks.
