The River Medway Navigation
extends from the mouth of the Thames by Sheerness southwards to Tonbridge. The first 43 km, to Maidstone, offer far larger dimensions than given. Navigating on this river is a great pleasure, as it offers the quiet restorative powers of nature. Hard to believe that one is so near London.
