Grand Union Canal - Main Line
the canal extends from the Thames at Brentford over 50 locks into the beautiful surroundings of the Chiltern Hills, crosses Cassiobury Park from the 17th century and reaches then the old towns of Stocke Bruerne and Braunstone and finally climbs up to Birmingham. At Stoke Bruerne, one should take some time for the Canal Museum and Boat Inn.
Being a link between Birmingham and London, the canal is one of the oldest routes of transport of the country and leads along old towns with buildings and castles from mediaeval times.
