Tourism & Information
The lake is famous for its attractions for tourists from all over the world. First of all the city of Lucerne, the well known resort “Bürgenstock”, the Rigi and beautiful places like Vitznau, Brunnen, Küssnacht and many more.
Cuisine and Cellar
Restaurants and Hotels around the lake offer everything you might think off. The very typical recipes of this region however are not served in a lot of them because they are often very simple and rustic. A well known dish is “Älplermakronen” a hot pot with Makronen (pasta), onions, butter, cream and cheese. If you have an opportunity try “Urner Gämspfeffer” (chamois) or “Unterwaldner Stunggis” a stew with pork.
