Description: Hallwilersee
The Canton of Aargau is, with the confluence of many rivers like, Aare, Reuss, Limmat, Suhre, Wyna and Rhine, the “moated castle” of Switzerland. But its most important lake is rather small. It has a surface of 10km2 only.

Tourism
The region of the lake is a very well visited recreation area in the southerly part of the Canton of Aargau. And it has a proud fleet after all five excursion boats.

Cuisine and Cellar
There is some vine growing along the lake, first of all “Blauburgunder” for red vine and “Blanc de Noir” as well as “Riesling Sylvaner” for the white one. The latter goes excellently with the fish specialities served here.
