Description:
River Reuss has its sources at the Gotthard- and Furkapass. In the valley of Urseren Gotthard- and Furkareuss come together and flow at Flüelen into the Lake of Lucerne. The entire length of the river is 158 kms. We start at km 0 where it flows out of the Lake of Lucerne again. Its most important feeder is the river “Kleine Emme”. It joins the Reuss at Emmenbrücke and is now and then responsible for considerable high water at the underflow of river Reuss in the Canton of Aargau.

There is no tourism outside the city of Lucerne but the river is an appreciated recreation area especially for canoeists and rubber dinghy drivers. But also bathing, barbecue, playing and sports of all kinds play an important role in summer.
