Lake of Murten (Morat)
It is only 8 kilometres long and 2.8 broad but still very popular to boaters because it has with the Broye-canal a connection to the Lake of Neuenburg (Neuchâtel) and with the Zihl-canal another one to the Lake of Biel (Bienne). Together, the three lakes are the biggest water-sport estuary lying entirely on Swiss territory. The beautiful medieval town of Murten and the wines of Mont Vully contribute as well to the popularity of this region.
